114 Roads: Lagos vows to blacklist contractors who deliver poor jobs

The Lagos State Government has vowed to blacklist any contractor who delivers a poor job.

This is on the heels of the 114 roads in all the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs of the state.

Speaking in a progress report meeting with all the contractors, Executive Secretaries and other stakeholders across the State, the State's Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Muslim Folami emphasised that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode attached great importance to the timely completion of the roads, warning that any contractor that delivered a shoddy job would not only have the contract revoked but would also be blacklisted.

According to him, “the state government will not hesitate to cancel any contract or accept excuses from any contractor for non-performance, for the use of substandard material or if the road project delivered after completion is not up to the expected standard”.

The government however charged all the contractors handling projects to be on top of their jobs and ensure that they meet international standard in delivering.
